EIA: Monthly Energy Review - March 2021 - eng (pdf) Избранное

On March 25, 2021, EIA released its primary report on recent and historical energy statistics, the Monthly Energy Review (MER). Preliminary estimates for 2020 indicate the following:

  • S. primary energy production equaled 96 quadrillion British thermal units (Btu), the second-highest total on record and a 5% decrease from 2019. Natural gas plant liquids production increased 7% from 2019, renewable energy production increased 2%, dry natural gas production and nuclear electric power production each decreased 2%, crude oil production decreased 8%, and coal production decreased 24%. 
  • S. primary energy consumption totaled 93 quadrillion Btu, a 7% decrease from 2019. Renewable energy consumption increased 2%, dry natural gas consumption and nuclear electric power consumption each decreased 2%, petroleum consumption decreased 13%, and coal consumption decreased 19%.
  • S. primary energy exports equaled 23 quadrillion Btu, exceeding primary energy imports for the second consecutive year. U.S. primary energy imports totaled 20 quadrillion Btu, a 13% decrease from 2019. The United States was a net exporter of energy by 3.4 quadrillion Btu, the largest margin on record.
