Overview

Beginning in January 2017, some respondents to the EIA-63B survey are required to report monthly data are required to report monthly data. The subset of respondents who now must report monthly represents approximately 90% of photovoltaic (PV) activity in the United States, based on 2016 data.

Annual 2017 data will be published mid-2018 pending the receipt of data from the PV solar shippers not included in the monthly collection.

Data collected on the Monthly and Annual Form EIA-63B are protected from disclosure of individual company data. As a result of this protection, monthly data are not published in some tables.

Following is a description of the tables and recent changes:

• Table 2. Value and average value of photovoltaic module shipments. See T. 3
• Table 3. Monthly shipments, value, and average value
  (a compilation of annual tables 2, 3, and 4)
• Table 4. Average value of photovoltaic modules. See T.3
• Table 5. No longer published as of 2016
• Table 6. Source and disposition of photovoltaic modules. U.S. Shipments and Sales to U.S. OEM for Resale and Export Shipments cannot be published for August, September, and October to protect individual company data.
• Table 7. Photovoltaic module import shipments by country.
  Imports at the national level are published in T. 6. Country of origin is not published to protect the confidentiality of individual company data.
• Table 8. Destination of photovoltaic module export shipments.
  Exports at the national level are published in T. 6. Destination country is not published to protect the confidentiality of individual company data.
• Table 9. U.S. photovoltaic module shipments by state/territory.
  Individual data for most states are not published to protect the confidentiality of individual company data. Total U.S. Shipments and Sales to U.S. OEM for Resale cannot be published for August, September, and October to protect individual company data.
